Never had it. Post-natal body ache and pains, yes. Depression, no. I was too dang wired and tired to feel depressed. Many mothers suffer mild depression during the lying-in period. The mild depression. more commonly called as "baby blues" is most likely caused by biochemical and physical childbirth. This depression may bring all sorts of unfounded fears and worries about your new baby, but it usually passes away.

Post Natal Depression can be helped by increased support from family and friends. More severe PND will need help from your doctor. PND usually last from a few days to several months. About 1 in 10 women suffer PND after birth. Severe PND, without treatment could last for years. Remember what happened to Brooke Shields? She had PND that lasted almost a year. If you feel quite depressed after birth and you can't seem to shake the feeling off, go see your doctor.
