My adoptive town is slowly but surely making progress. I am so bad when I call it a "third world" town. Surely there's nothing wrong with that since the town is in a "third world" country. What does "third world" means anyway? Third World is a name given to nations that are generally considered to be underdeveloped economically. If this is the case, then my adoptive town is well into being de-classified as third world.
In the almost three decades that I have living in my adoptive town, it was only 8 years ago that a definitive move has been made to make it a city. Two large commercial complexes have been built in the town. A first class casino, one of the chains in a local franchise of Casinos, has been established and from what I heard is enjoying a large patronage. I should know. My sister-in-law frequents the place. Near the complex is a large function hall open for lease. There are a lot of IT schools and small-scale industries established and being established in the town too. Sooner or later, depending on the speed of legislators, the town will be a "city". The locals will then be called "city" dwellers. Hah! Fun!
