Our baby girl turned two! The girls wanted a simple celebration so they decided to hold a "family and close friends" only party at Mcdo! It was a "Candy Crush" themed party so we "hired" ourselves, Party Styling Divas, to do the centerpieces et al. We were not able to really decorate the party venue because it was against McDonald's policy.

For the centerpiece, D3 created a candy-filled dispenser, mini ceramic pots with wafer sticks, marshmallows and everything sweet! The cake was not exactly a "cake" but mini red velvet cupcakes topped with fondant candy crush designs. For party favors, I made some colored "chocolates" in cute animal shapes, than wrapped them in colorful Japanese paper, cellophane and ribbons.

The party did not turn out as we planned it to be - simple and non-stressful. The party turned out to be a parteee.. so many people came! The staff of McDonald were on their toes! I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Who wouldn't? Everyone was high on sugar!

I spent the better part of the afternoon yesterday at the city hall as I tried to get a local copy of my marriage certificate. I will be going somewhere, sometime in July and I need to present my marriage certificate for the issuance of a visa.  Yup, I need a copy from the NSO too but the one that I have indicated that my marriage is not registered in NSO! Does that mean I can get married again! Nope! My marriage to my husband is indeed registered at the city hall. I asked the one in charge why NSO does not have a record of our marriage. The lady said NSO probably missed scanning and filing the certificate. I looked at the girl and said nothing. I was married in 1980  and there were no scanners yet! Oh well... Now I have to take care of bank certifications et al for my up and coming   educational travel tours!

My maids decided to go on a loooong vacation which means to say, they  have decided to seek "greener" pastures. I would not have mind IF I didn't have to work for a living, attend to numerous church activities and ministries AND take care of a budding "tornado" of a little girl. Look at the photo above. I spent an hour dutifully folding clothes. I just had to go check something and in less than a minute, this is what greeted me! Noooooooo!!!....

I just love to watch marching bands! They are a sight to behold not to mention the rhythmic music they make! I used to "dream" of being a majorette since as a young girl, I frequented the local rehearsal hall of our town's marching band, thanks to my uncle, the resident fan club president of Banda Uno. I remember the colorful and lively marching bands of my childhood days. I had a fondness for college marching bands back then as they usually do drills and stunts with their rifles. Gone are the days of drab, black-painted rifles. I saw that  there are now color guard rifles at wwbw. Makes for a more interesting rifle drill routine while marching.

This little girl is such a daylight! She imitated Daisy's pose in the movie Gatsby. Not really a great feat but for a toddler of two, this antic certainly elicit smiles.Come to think, the movie Gatsby is the second film adaptation of  F. Scott Fitzgerald 1925 novel The Great Gatsby. The first film adaptation was in 1974 with no less than Robert Redford playing the part of Jay Gatsby and Mia Farrow as Daisy Buchanan. Almost 30 years later, Leonardo di Caprio is Gatsby and Carey Mulligan as Daisy. I don't remember if the original Gatsby was successful but I do remember Robert Redford's great looks back then. I don't feel like watching the current Gatsby film. I'd rather watch Tobey McGuire as Spiderman!

Anyone who is remotely "musical"  knows Fender is a brand to contend with in the world of  electric guitars. Though the company was not the first to manufacture electric guitars, it nevertheless holds the distinction of being the first guitar company to design and manufacture solid body electric guitars. Past and present notable Fender players include Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, Kurt Corbain, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Keith Urban and the list goes on. The latest offering is the new Fender Squier.Yup! The Squier Collection of  electric guitars is by Fender.

D4 went to Digman for "to go" halo-halo. The afternoon was mighty hot so she thought it best to refresh by eating halo-halo. Since all three halo-halo stalls in Digman are not air-conditioned, it was better to take the 10-minute drive to Digman, order  take home halo-halo, then eat at home. Somehow, the halo-halo eaten in Digman kinda tasted better. Not for this little girl though. She loved it!

The church's Praise and Worship Team definitely needs a new power amplifier. In the middle of last Sunday's singing, the audio suddenly sounded as if a couple of  live wires were rubbing with the audio fluctuating. One of the amps was grounded! There was nothing the sound man can do but uplug the offending power amplifier. After church, the sound man recommended that we set aside money for a new power amp. He recommended that the church purchase Boehringer EP4000 EuroPower power amp that is capable of delivering 2 x 2,000W at 2 ohms up to 4,000W at 4 ohms in bridge mode.  According to the sound man, the power amp is capable of removing infra-sound frequencies. Of course no one in the meeting understood what the heck he was talking about. But we all said "yes" when we learned that the power amp was less than $300.
