One thing I enjoyed most during my pregnancies was shopping for baby clothes. I just have a field day window shopping then finally buying all those cutie things. Shopping for baby things in the 80's was completely inferior to shopping for the same stuff in the 21st century. In the 80's the only nice store were Rustan's, Cinderella and SM. There were plenty of small boutiques selling imported items but the choices were limited. In 2002 my girls and I shopped like mad for real nice, cute and coordinated clothes and accessories for the then coming bundle of joy - Ethan. We spent a lot of money and time for what we perceived were "necessities" plus more. The brands and styles may have changed but the basic necessities are still the same. Here is an illustration of baby basics from my very old Mothercare Book.
