Daughters 2,3, Ethan and I went to my friend's wake. She was not an ordinary friend as she was a teacher of my three oldest girls. I remember her smile and booming voice. She was always positive in her outlook.
The wake was at a funeral home. The room where her casket was laid was spacious and big. Beautiful white orchids filled the area where the casket was. My company and I were greeted by my friend's sister. I introduced myself and my daughters and the sister was pleasantly surprised. I went to the casket to look. I hardly recognized her. She was so thin compared to the once vivacious one I remember. I shed a tear for my friend. I gave thanks to the Lord that at last my friend's pain is gone. She turned 50 on November 21, 2008. She died, three days later. May the peace of Christ be with you my friend.
