In life's journey, there are people we meet who inspire us to strive for a better life, a better you or in a grander magnitude, a better world. One such person is Bilaal Rajan. What's so special about Biaal? There are so many philanthropists and humanitarians out there all willing to "help" make the world a better place. Bilaal is only 12 years old and making change happen.
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, this amazing boy has been motivated to help people since he was four years old. In 2001, he sold clementine oranges door to door and raised $350 to help the earthquake victims in India. He was then moved to help the hurricane victims in Haiti in 2004. He formed a group of 12 children, asked his father's company to donate boxes of cookies, sold the cookies and was able to raise a considerable amount for the children of Haiti. UNICEF took notice of Bilaal and was so impressed that they made him the official child spoke person of UNICEF Canada.
Bilaal went on to reach out to some 50 private companies for donations. He was so successful that he was able to raise $1,000,000 for UNICEF Canada. The amount was matched by the Canadian government. TO date, Bilaal has raised close to $5 million and is the youngest UNICEF ambassador.
Rajan's ultimate goal is to inspire and motivate a million kids in the next three years to reach their full potential and help make the world a better place to live in. Presently Bilaal's new book Making Change: Tips from an Underage Overachiever help inspire children to make a change. You too can make a difference. Visit the site and share to the less privileged.
