Happy Birthday 'boy!

Today, November 12, eighteen years ago, I gave birth to my fifth child . My only son. When I learned that I was pregnant (again) I prayed real hard for the Lord to finally bless us with a son. I refused to know the sex of the baby growing inside me then. I had great faith that it will be a boy. I bought infant clothes and stuff in blue. I psyched myself that soon a baby boy will grace our lives. It came as no surprise to me when my oby-gyne said "finally, a boy!"

It was different rearing a boy. I was more protective as in, over. My girls still refer to their brother as my "baby boy". I guess I can't help being over cautious and worrisome regarding my son. So here's to my one and only son:
