Yesterday's post was about the damaging effects on the brain of some habits that we have. Today's organ of focus is the liver.
The liver is the largest organ and gland in the human body. What are the major functions of the liver? The primary functions of the liver are:
1. Do not sleep late than compensate by waking up late.
2. Make sure you urinate in the morning after getting out of bed.
3. Do not overeat.
4. Do not skip breakfast.
5. Do not take unnecessary medications.
6. Do not consume too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
Notice that all junk foods have preservatives and food coloring.
7. Do not consume too much unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying. Do not consume too much fried foods. Notice that fastfood food swim in oil. Before you order that French fries, think again. An occasional treat is alright.
8. Do not consume too much raw food. The liver works overtime when we eat raw food. It is advisable to eat veggies raw/cooked in a 3:5 proportion. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting. Do not store.
There are herbs that are beneficial to the liver. The following herbs/plants are proven beneficial to the liver and helps in its regeneration: milk thistle, dandelion root, licorice root and chicory root.
