Every host city, or for not matter, every Olympics has its own seal. Much thought has been placed on the logo design and each and every one of them never cease to maze me. I first encountered the Beijing Olympic seal in one of Jackie Chan's commercial regarding the said event. Out of topic: I just love Jackie Chan Movies!
The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games emblem "Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing" is filled with Beijing's hospitality and hopes, and carries the city's commitment to the world. It is a symbol of trust and self confidence. The image typifies the eastern way of thinking expressing the cultural quality and elegance of Chinese civilization. Notice that the word Beijing was written reminiscent of the Chinese calligraphic art. Red is the Chinese favorite color. It carries Chinese people's longing for luck and happiness and their explanation of life. The Dancing Beijing is, as the Chinese would like to impart, is a call for heroes - embodied by the athletes, where the running form of human stands for beauty and elegance, where the curves are like that of a wriggling dragon encompassing the past and future of a great civilization.
