Global Positioning System (GPS) is a U.S. space-based navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites that provides reliable positioning, navigation, and timing services to civilian users on an uninterrupted worldwide basis for free. GPS started as a military application but was made available to the public in 1983 at the wake of the accidental shooting of Korean Air Lines flight 007. Since then, GPS has been used to aid to navigation worldwide, a tool for map-making, land surveying, commerce, scientific uses, and even hobbies such as geocaching. GPS also provides a precise time reference used in many applications including scientific study of earthquakes, and synchronization of telecommunications networks. Anyone with a GPS receiver can have access to the system. The system provides precise location and time information for an indefinite number of people in all weather, anytime, anywhere in the world.

Just how does it work? The GPS is made up of three key elements: satellites orbiting the Earth; control and monitoring stations on Earth; and the GPS receivers owned by users. GPS satellites broadcast signals from space that are picked up and identified by GPS receivers. Each GPS receiver then provides three-dimensional location (latitude, longitude, and altitude) plus the time. Individuals may purchase GPS handsets that are readily available through commercial retailers. GPS users can correctly locate where they are and navigate to where they want to go in any mode of transportation. GPS has become a part of the modern man’s life. Everyone uses it: farmers, bankers, surveyors, geologists, pilots, lawyers, doctors, housewives…... everyone! The question now is who provides the best GPS tracking system this side of USA and Canada?

GPS Insight vehicle tracking system uses the latest in AT&T mobile technology for accurate vehicle locations every two minutes. It is a hardware and web software-based vehicle tracking product which is the technical leader in the GPS tracking field.
