I have been sleeping well these past few nights. The reason is because I have started to jog again. I jog about 3 kilometers everyday and the endorphin is just flowing!
I have gained more than 10 pound since I quit smoking about 8 months ago. The evil that is blogging also added to the weight problem. The many hours spent in front of the monitor - typing, reading, browsing, sitting - took its toll in the form of 10 unwanted pounds. What made me take up jogging again? First, as I do not have time to go to the gym, what better way to exercise? Jogging is free, fun, and time flexible. Second, I find it hard sleeping at night. Third, I entered a 5K race for tomorrow.
Yes. I, who have not jogged for so long, entered a 5K run. What made me do it? Daughter #4 texted me a week ago asking if I want to join their school-sponsored run. Knowing full well that I am not fit to join such event I said YES! Now, why did I? Well, I know I was getting heavier by the day and no amount of self-ridicule could make me lift my butt off my computer chair. Entering this run forced me to jog to at least loosen my flabby muscles.
Tomorrow’s run is set at 6:00 A.M. Registration is not later than 5:30 A.M. That means I have to be up and about and raring to run by 4:00 A.M. What?! Somebody, please wake me up!
