Is it finally time for me to get my own hosting site? I have been in this quandary for the longest time and I still can't decide. My main concern is I would not know how to go about transferring my domain to a web hosting provider. There are probably thousands of web hosting providers worldwide and that made the market real competitive. It used to cost a lot to get your own host but today, there are great hosting packages being offered. It is best to research on the top web hosting companies before I do the plunge and according to http://webhostinggeeks.com the top three web host providers are Inmotion, JustHost and WebHosting Pad. All three offers almost the same packages but WebHosting Pad offers if for less at $1.99 per month. Cheap hosting does not necessarily translate to inferior hosting as expensive hosting does not necessarily means "great" hosting.
Since my in-laws have plans of expanding their other businesses by means of putting up websites for their various businesses and since I have other blogs too running on free web hosting, maybe getting a dedicated server would be a better option. I think this would be more flexible than a shares hosting as I could have a better control over the servers. I could even offer hosting services If I wanted too! Oh well, I guess I have to start small and learn the ropes first before I venture into providing my own shared-hosting.
The latest in web hosting is green hosting. Green hosting companies use green renewable energy to power their web servers, data centers, office computers and to some, even their buildings. These green companies use alternative power sources from the wind, sun and geothermal energy. For a few $s more, users of green hosting help save the earth from global warming.
