A year ago, Ethan suddenly started showing some real nasty rashes on his arms and legs. I thought they were caused by some ailment. As I looked closely at the rashes I realized they were not rashes at all but bites! What bit Ethan? I took him to a doctor and it was diagnosed that the rashes were indeed insect bites. Nasty insects - bedbugs! But my house is bedbugs free, or so I thought. It seems that bedbugs can get into your house by clinging to ones clothes. They can also crawl into luggage when traveling and then get carried back into your home. I'd settle for the later. My son traveled to a remote area days before and the "culprit" luggage was sitting in my bedroom. It so happened that Ethan was highly allergic to the bites that it took more than month and a lot of medications for his bites to clear.

Bedbugs are nasty. It is better to check your house for signs of bedbugs. What are the signs? First and foremost, bites! If you have unexplained bites once you get up from bed, then there's reason to suspect. Bedbugs are good at hiding and they prefer nooks and crannies of furniture and beds. They can even hide out in curtains and linens. Check out www.bedbugsguide.com for bed bug control guide and information. Regarding my bedbug infested bed, I threw it out!

We have gone sparkly for the past ten years or so to greet the New Year. We (actually, my hubby) had stopped buying firecrackers because they are unsafe. Years and years ago, it was customary in this third world town to fire guns like AR-7 and M-16 instead of firecrackers. Every other house in the neighborhood had guns then and everyone joined in the shooting revelry at New Year's eve. Indeed.Truly. Guilty. Now don't go judging me. My backyard had a short span shooting range and that was were we empty shells. I know! I was young and insipid then. Now, I'm old and insipid. Anyway, here was how we greeted 2009.

Now comes the hated part of the post Season - the "undecorating" the house of Christmas tinsels and decors. Most of us spent days and days of planning to finally put up our tress and lights. It took me forever to get the plastic Christmas tree and its trimmings from storage. I bought new lights and other decors just so to set the mood for the holidays. Now, I have to take all these decors down in a day, pack them nicely and store them for next use.

Every January, I get the urge to redecorate my living room. Why? The dazzling decors of Christmas, when put away, seem to make my living room dull and inadequate. I feel that new curtains are needed to liven up the seemingly uninteresting room. I happen upon Natural Curtain Company and found numerous curtain materials for my living room. My living room is somewhat eclectic. I fused the colors of burnt sienna, gold, brown, old rose, forest green and beige as motif. The room gets its soft effect from incandescent bulbs strategically placed. The curtain material I found would definitely add color and point of interest. The design is called Zanskar Flower. I love it! I must have it!

New year. New resolutions. New goals. New wishes. New face? New body? Not in my case though. It's for my best friend. My friend has been overweight for the longest time. Her battle of the bulge has been an ongoing thing for the last 20 years or so. Her extra weight caused her aches and pains unknown to others. She has chronic back pain that caused her undue discomfort. After a year of eating wisely and doing light to moderate exercises, she finally lost the unwanted weight. But! She was still suffering from back pains - which was the result of her more than ample bust. Her large breasts were the root cause of her back aches and shoulder pain. It is likely that she needs a breast reduction surgery to alleviate the constant pain in her back and shoulders.

Browsing online, a site at www. http://www.mya.co.uk offers breast reduction procedure. It says the procedure call for the removal of fat and excess skin for a new breast size and shape. This is what my friend needs! The procedure would lessen her bust size translating to a more proportioned upper body translating to good posture and eventually to no more back and shoulder pain. The site even boosts of a zero interest installment plan for the procedure. I will have to refer this site to my friend. I'd say "this is your big step to a new you!"
