Did you know that DNA testing for US immigrants is required now? Well, I didn't until a week ago. A friend's US petition finally came through and one of the requirements is a DNA test. The rationale is to prove the "blood" relationship between the beneficiary and the petitioner. I asked my friend where she plans to have her DNA tested and she said at an established DNA testing center in the US. She said that at www.dnacenter.com all she has to do is send a copy of the USCIS/U.S. embassy paperwork and full or partial payment of the test for
DDC to send the concerned US Embassy. The embassy will be the one to schedule the collection of specimen and its return to DDC for testing. The results will then be sent back to the embassy for consideration. Sounds easy to me.
